Y.K. CHAN (陳耀棋), FICS (Chairman)
ICSHK Executive Committee member for over 15 years (Branch Chairman 2002-04, 2008-10, 2012-14 & 2014-15, ICS Controlling Council Member 2007-2010 & 2012-15, ICS Executive Council Member Dec 2014 till now). Membership Chairman of Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators (2004-07, 2008-11, 2012-15), Former Documentary Committee Member of BIMCO (1996-2003). Former INTERCARGO Asia Representative (1999- 2005 & 2008-2014), Part-time lecturer of the shipping programmes co-organized by SCOPE of City University of Hong Kong and Institute of Seatransport. Tutor of Study Groups for ICS students for the Professional Qualifying Examinations. Now works as Shipping Consultant and Maritime Arbitrator, and acts as Board Director of HK Maritime Museum and Editorial Board member of “Asian Dispute Review”.
Ms. Iris Mak, FICS (Vice Chairman)
Iris got her right job as Chartering Manager at a global commodity trading house and presently a Shipbroker of container ships, after she had passed the PQE of ICS and had become member in 1997. She finds that the ICS examination is the one certifying the standard of practical shipping knowledge in various aspects, even after she have obtained the degree of MBA in Shipping and Logistic.
As she truly believe that the qualification of MICS / FICS can assist the career development of the youngsters as she did, she have served in the EXCO for 12 years in various positions as the Honorary Secretary, Honorary Treasurer, Vice-Chairman, member of the Vetting Committee and the Editor of the Golden Jubilee Book.
Since 2014, she has been appointed as the member of the Maritime Industry Council at the capacity of a shipbroker and the member of the Port Operations Committee as individual member. Iris hope that she is able to contribute to the Maritime Industry both through the Branch and the governmental non-statutory committees.

Chief Engineer sailed for about 9 years on different kind of ships. Started shore Career with Great Eastern Shipping as Technical Manager. Worked as Technical Superintendent with Univan, KC Maritime. Left KC Maritime in 2005 as Fleet Manager and joined Anglo Eastern, HK. Part-time lecturer of the shipping programmes co-organized by SCOPE of City University of HK and Institute of Seatransport. Tutor of Study Groups for ICS students for the Professional Qualifying Examinations.
Presently Honorary Secretary of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, Hong Kong Branch.
Chan Ka Ho (Davin), MICS (Youg Member Group Convenor)

Since graduated from MSc in International Shipping & Transport Logistics, Davin has been working on operation and commercial aspects in a Hong Kong tanker shipowner.
Also, Davin joined ICS,HK in 2011 to become a MICS, contributing to various aspects of development and activities of the Institute.
Jagmeet Makkar, FICS
Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, UK and Institute of Marine Engineers (I), with nearly 34 years of experience in shipping. His vast experience in ship-management, conversions, new-buildings and commercial shipping have enriched his contributions in various industry forums like the Shipping Consultative Committee HKSAR, HK Technical Committees of LR and ClassNK. Besides actively promoting the industry through articles in various journals such as Bimco Review, Marine Engineers’ Review, Shipping Network, He-Alert of Nautical Institute, Sailor Today, Seaview, Waterlink etc., Jagmeet has also been a part time lecturer at City University (Hong Kong). Jagmeet is pursuing higher studies after having recently resigned as Co-Head of Chartering and Global Head of Shipping Assets with Noble Group. Jagmeet is a past chairman of the Hong Kong branch of Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers.
Ms Wong-Wing-Cheung, Adih, FICS (Hon. Treasurer)
Engaged in shipping for more than 30 years. Obtained MSc in International shipping and transport logistics from Hong Kong Poly University in 2003.
In the early stage, involved in ship management work in Hesco Shipmanagement Ltd.
Later on, joined Oceanlink Ltd. as shipbroker handling chartering, sales and purchase, claims on cargo and hull and machinery insurance.
In middle of 1980s, joined Mitrans Shipping Ltd. to handle vessels calling at China ports and to assist shipowner principal to negotiate quick dispatch agreement with port authority to shorten port stay of ships in China.
In 1995 onward, work in Gencon Shipping (Hong Kong) Ltd. to handle Hong Kong port agency job as well as steel products transshipment to the Pearl River Delta ports in China.
As from 2014, she continues to serve as guide volunteer for Hong Kong Maritime Museum.

Account with a shipowning company; operate my own shipbroking company for over 10 years; claims Manager with a P&I company; presently running my own law firm specialize in shipping & humanity, Ex-part-time lecturer with HK Polytechnic University teaching chartering for 5 years, ex-part-time lecturer with Nottingham Laws School teaching company law & Commercial Law in LLB programme, part time lecturer with HKMA teaching Business Law & Law of Carriage of Goods by Sea for over 10 years.

As winner of Hong Kong Maritime Scholarship, Mr. LI came from Shanghai in 2009. He started his career life as a chartering staff at Novo Group and then became an iron ore/coal trader. Since 2013 he worked at the operations division at world’s largest Handysize/Handymax owner - Pacific Basin Group and gained rich experience in vessel operations field. Now he is mainly focusing on Panamax bulk carriers’ commercial operations and bunkering affairs coordination for China Shipping Group.
Since 2012, Mr. LI joined the Executive Committee of ICS Hong Kong branch and in charge of the website, mailing system development and young member activities.

Munish Khatri, MICS (Asst. Hon. Secretary)

After serving at sea for 9 years as a marine engineer moved ashore as a ship manager in the ship management industry. Worked as Technical Manager at Reliance port, Sikka, India. Later moved to HK as Technical Superintendent at Fleet Management Ltd and was gradually promoted to Senior Superintendent from 2009 to 2013. Presently working with Pacific Basin Shipping Ltd, Hong Kong as Assistant Fleet Manager and looking after technical & operational management of a fleet of dry cargo vessels.
Started his shipping career with Farenco HK. Thence worked as a professional shipbroker in Hong Kong Chartering Ltd and Wallem Shipbroking. In 1997, he formed his own shipbroking company P.C. Li Shipbrokers. Joined ICS, HK EXCO in 2013.
Nitin Mathur, MICS

A business leader with track record in gas, crude, product tanker and dry bulk chartering, operations and maritime investments.
Currently working as Managing Director of Wallem Commercial Services. Member of shipping committee of ICCHK. Previously worked in commercial and operations roles at Wallem Shipbroking HK, Gearbulk Singapore Pte Ltd and as Class A Harbour Pilot at Port of Singapore. Ex-member of PSA pilotage and port safety committee.

EXCO member since 2014. Member of Hong Kong ICS Branch since 2004. Tutor in Drycargo chartering for ICS study Groups.
Currently Chief Commercial Officer with GMT Shipping and Logistics Group.
20 years of experience including management and leadership roles in shipping, chartering, shipbroking, ship agency and logistics, having previously worked with the A. P. Moller / Maersk Group and Clarksons.
Terry Lik Fei Chu, MICS

Graduated from Electrical/Electronic Engineer in 2002 from University of Auckland, New Zealand.
Terry Chu, who entered the maritime industry in year of 2002 as a Junior Marine Surveyor, he was later qualified as Marine Surveyor from UK, and later qualified as member of Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers by Examination and proof of working experience. Terry has both technical and commercial skills in the maritime business. Technical being the past experience as Marine Surveyors including Pre-Purchase Inspection of Ocean Going Vessels, from small General Cargo Ships trading China-Japan-Korea to Suezmax Tankers trading worldwide, as well as many other type of maritime surveying. Commercial being numerous deals from 2nd Hand Sale and Purchase from panamax bulker to VLCC tankers as well as Cash Buyer for Scrap Ships of more than 100 ships in the past 4-5 years. Terry also handled projects i.e. towing of a capesize bulker to Zhoushan Scrapyard, operating and managing including crew supply for single voyage of ocean going vessel from China to delivering to Alang, India etc. Terry is also serving the Institute of Seatransport Hong Kong at the moment in the post of Secretary.

Dr. T L Yip, MICS (Education Officer)
Dr. T L Yip is currently the Deputy Director in C.Y. Tung International Centre for Maritime Studies and Associate Professor, Department of Logistics and Maritime Studies, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). Dr Yip is a specialist marine traffic engineer and a chartered mechanical engineer in Hong Kong and United Kingdom. Before joining PolyU, he was the Principal / Senior Marine Engineer, BMT Asia Pacific (2002-2005).
Dr. Yip is serving as the Programme Leader of BBA-International Shipping and Transport Logistics, PolyU. Since 2005, he has been teaching the shipbroking subjects in PolyU, and he has been liaising with the Hong Kong branch of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers for examination venues, ICS scholarship, MOU between PolyU & ICS, and other issues of mutual interests.
Chau Din Ming Joseph, FICS
Began my career in the Shipping industry in 1971 working as a trainee shipbroker at Matheson Chartering Ltd London, a subsidiary of Jardine Matheson, gaining experience of many facets of shipping practice in the City of London.
Presently Managing Director of Island Ship Management Ltd, a Hong Kong based Ship Management Company.
Involved in different sectors of the Shipping Industry including Shipbroking, General Cargo, Container Trade and Terminal Management during the past 33 years.
Worked at Hong Kong Islands Line (1972-89), appointed as Director of in 1978.
Appointed to the Board of Asia Terminals Limited in 1986 (1986-89).
Worked in USA briefly and prior to returning to Hong Kong, was Deputy General Manager of EAC Transport Pacific Centre (1989-90)
Elected Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers in 1976 and served on the Committee of Hong Kong Branch in 1978.
